Easy Gamecube Emulator Tutorial by JaMbo87
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

System Requirements:
Dolphin runs best on a PC with a dual-core processor as well as a graphics card which supports OpenGL and Pixel Shader 2.0. Preferable graphics cards would be of those made by nVidia or ATI.

Operating System:
Microsoft Windows (2000/XP/Vista/7).
Apple Mac OS X (Intel version).
Linux.

CPU:
Pentium 4 or Athlon 64 with SSE2 (recommended: a dual core processor above 2 GHz).

GPU:
OpenGL 2.1 or DirectX 9.0c compatible.

Note that this emulator is still work in progress. Most games I tried so far run perfectly fine, a little slow from time to time, usually during cutscenes. Some games are a little buggy and others simply don't run at all.

I haven't made a compatibility list and I'm not sure I ever will, so you will have to see for yourself if you can play your favorite games already or not.

Also, during cutscenes the audio can get desynced from the video, you can V-Sync them, but for some reason the emulator sometimes crashes because of this. Probably some emulation bug, I don't know. Leave the V-Sync box unchecked and the game won't crash but the audio will sound a bit weird in some cutscenes. Easily notable in the Legend of Zelda - the Wind Waker.

To keep this easy for everyone I just made a bunch of screenshots. If you set it up like I did you should be fine. This set up works fine for most of the games, if a game isn't running well you can try changing the setup for a bit to see what it does.

1:
Start up Dolphin and click Config:
Don't check the Enable Dual Core box if you don't have 2 or more processor cores.

2:
Click Gamecube:
Add as many controllers as you have players.
Setup both memory cards. I'm using A for PAL games, B for NTSC games. It prevents you from corrupting your memory files which will force you to format the memory card (this happens ingame so you don't need to do anything yourself).

4:
The OpenGL plugin is really slow, better said, it's crap. Most games run better using the Dolphin Direct3D9 plugin.

5: Set up your video plugin:
Set up your prefered resolution. I'm using 1024x768 but if you want to use a higher or lower resolution, feel free. You can check the fullscreen box as well if you desire, that's all up to you.

6:
You don't have to check the hi-res box if you don't want but I enjoy the hi-res textures so I've checked. This is up to you as well.

7.

That should be it, runs most games just fine. Some games, like Skies of Arcadia - Legends, run better using the OpenGL plugin. That's because there's some hack added to the emulator which you can use using the OpenGL plugin. Try it and see for yourself.

Some ingame screenshots of the Legend of Zelda - the Wind Waker and the Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess running on my own PC.
